Self Drive

Where ever you're coming from theres plenty to see and do in South Australia, as you make your way to The Great Australian Outback Cattle Drive.

You'll be pleasantly surprised by the quality of most roads (both sealed and unsealed) in the Flinders Ranges and Outback. Although many are unsealed, its still possible to explore in a conventional vehicle. You'll still need a 4WD for venturing off the main Outback roads. Please contact Transport SAs hotline (1300 361 033) for an update on road conditions before you travel.

Coober Pedy located 842kms north of Adelaide is the main stopover point on route to The Great Australian Outback Cattle Drive. You can leave your car in Coober Pedy and join a coach transfer to your Great Australian Outback Cattle Drive tour. Alternatively there will be an allocated car park located adjacent the Great Australian Outback Cattle Drive campsite where you can leave your car for the duration of the tour. The campsite will be well sign posted from the Oodnadatta Track.

For further information on getting to and from the Cattle Drive, contact the South Australian Visitor and Travel Centre or your travel agent .
